Today, I met this 88 year old gentleman who asked for my help and I was only too happy to assist him. After doing all that he wanted me to do for him, I said goodbye and was getting ready to leave as one would normally do. What happened next was so overwhelming it took me a while to get over it and even got me thinking. He flashed a huge smile back at me and said a thunderous 'Thank You'. He then looked at me as if to say, ''Wait, I'm not finished yet!" After that he sat down and immediately started saying a prayer that went something like this:
"Halleluyah!"
Thank you Lord for this day and for getting the help that I needed.
Any sins that I have committed today, I bring forth to your
Throne of Glory and place them to be bound at the foot
of your son's cross, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
As for my new friend here who has just helped me,
Bless her in your Glory and Honour.
(Clapping joyfully, he concluded with a mighty AMEN!)
I was so touched and left speechless, and in response, I silently thanked God for that moment of praise.
Isn't it funny how we can sometimes take for granted any little help we give and/or receive from others without pausing and savouring the moment?
It goes to show that we should always do good to people regardless because you just never know who you might be serving with your act of kindness.
So the next time you give or receive help, take time to think about it.
Have a great day!
"We are God's workmanship,
created in Christ Jesus
to do good works."
Ephesians 2:10
